We received this message from Don Higby at Plantation Beach Resort on
Cayos Cochinos last night:
Just a quick note to let everyone know WE ARE STILL HERE! We had 25+
people in the generator room and endured 130mph+ winds. The Wahoo
survived as well. The resort will be dug out in a matter of days and we will be ready to go DIVING! We thank everyone for your concern and we'll be standing by here.
Thank God, The Gang at PBR.

Information from Oswaldo Dominguez in Tegucigalpa, Honduras:
It has not stopped raining, there are no bridges, the streets are useless, we are also without water
and the electricity comes in short instances. It is unbelievable! At night MITCH was yesterday
exactly upon Tegucigalpa. The truth is that I had never seen something like it. The supermarkets
were full yesterday. You had to wait under rain to be able just to enter. It's incredible. The streets
are like rivers. Thousands of
houses fell and they continue to
fall. The bridge of the Penitentiary
among others fell, and a great part
of that building also fell. The
criminals threw themselves to the
water escaped and the some
police were shooting at them. In
the Loarque neighborhood I saw
several houses being taken, one of them with five people in
the ceiling taking by a TV crew was impressive, and just to
make it worst, they have had to allow water from the dams
go, they were on the verge of exploding.
There is no communication with other cities, even with Valley of Angels. Generally, all the bridges
in the country, they all fell or they are in alert of being able to fall. It is a disaster! Really, I am
scared, in the Ceiba bodies began to float. There are no words to describe this. Of Guanaja, that is
where MITCH was located over 12 hours nothing is even known. No communication or nothing of
them is known. The Banks, we remained without money, we had to close because we may no
longer service people, there were lines outside the bank and we didn't have any money to give
back to our account holders.
The airports are closed, we can't find any more candles, there is no bread, and this is very
catastrophic. Let's see what happens? Now a force of broad atmospheric pressure could covert
MITCH again into a Hurricane and we are afraid that it could return here like it did before. The
telephones if you're in lucky, you might be able to use them. I hope it stops raining, but last night
was terrible, and consequences already begin. The entire coast is where this is worse, here what
affect us was rains and the swellings of the rivers, over there it was the hurricane, the TV news is
horrible, you can not start to imagine.

Note from
Emergency Medical Services:
Many people have asked me to prepare a list of exactly what medicines are
needed. This is the list prepared by my doctors. These are the generic names
and the presentation needed. In 14 days there will be an epidemic of fungus
as the people are wet and are staying wet. Specifically Clotrimazole cream
will be needed in huge supplies, plus regular powder to keep them dry. Of
course the ability to change socks and shoes is assumed.
We are all hesitant about just sending in medicines to the relief effort,
and want to know it will end up in the hands of those who need it. So, I am
offering the services of EMS to receive and distribute if anyone wants to send things to us.

Update on La Ceiba via e-mail from Heather (Cameron) Kingrey
My brother-in-law, Roger Reeck, called from La Ceiba today and said that La Ceiba is like an island now with water all around it since all of the bridges are down in the rivers!! He said that my folks, and other family
members returned to their homes after evacuating from there on Monday!!
My folks and Roger & Marilyn's homes did not have any damage to them!!.
The houses across the street from them were on a slight downhill and they
had mud and water damage including my brother's home !! Today Roger
flew over the villages up the eastern coast towards Trujillo to access
the damage and to see how they would be able to take food and supplies up
there!! While he was doing that my sister, Marilyn, their girls and the
young people from Iglesia Bethel were bagging up food and other supplies
in plastic bags to fly over and drop into those areas. Also tomorrow
possibly Roger was going to try to go by boat up there to deliver
supplies to the people who are isolated because of the storm.
My folks home is just a block or so away from the Cangrejal River so we
are praying that it still won't overflow any more than what it has!!
We are praying for their protection as they begin taking relief supplies
to these areas!!
